A PERSONAL BLOG FOR PUBLIC TIMES

personal blog

Personal blog speaks to the heart, not the wallet.

I see this on blogs all the time, maybe you do too.

“LEARN TO SELL, ADVERTISE.”

“LEARN TO ATTRACT MORE TRAFFIC.”

“LEARN TO CREATE CLASSES TO TEACH OTHERS TO SELL AND ADVERTISE AND ATTRACT MORE TRAFFIC.”

It’s all good, but doesn’t it sound like it all comes from the same can?

“MY LIFE DREAM IS HELPING OTHER PEOPLE FIND THEIR LIFE DREAM.”

All good sentiments, but what’s the take away?

The next move is either a funnel page, an email capture, or a more bait to follow.

It’s blog business from start to finish, but it’s not a personal blog.

My blog advisor said, “if you post everyday without a schedule you’re just puking up thoughts that drip on the blog world floor and get washed out like a New Orleans sidewalk the morning after.”

In so many words.

Boomerpdx is a personal blog, not a sales blog, educational blog; not a travel blog, fitness blog, or financial blog.

It’s not a healthy living blog, spiritual blog, boomer blog, millennial blog, or political blog.

Instead it’s all of those combined with the pressure to do nothing but take a break and read a few posts.

Join my readership or not, just don’t expect a newsletter, an update, or a new best friend blog.

If you read a movie blog, restaurant blog, fresh food blog, or a book blog, keep at it. Reading was on the way out before smart phones and online writers.

Now more people read than ever based on the number of eyes glued to the device in their hand at any moment.

If you land here and leave, good, then you’ve found somewhere else to go. At least you’re doing that much.

Landing here and roaming around is better.

So douse the tiki torch, flip the collar on your polo shirt, and take a moment for something more normal, like a personal blog read.
