BoomerPdx Blog Update, November

The numbers aren’t good, but they are surprising.

Australia found boomerpdx and lead the world outside America in racking up hits here, which makes me happy.

Twenty seven other countries made the hard trip here along with twenty eight American states.

I’m glad to see the number of states and countries keeping pace with each other.

In real numbers the story is different.

After updating Genesis I believe the reason boomerpdx lands on someone’s search is all in the platform. Instead of rolling posts out and hitting publish, Genesis keeps content valid.

Twitter has been a dead end regarding traffic, but it’s so engaging. I can only imagine what one of the people think the first time they see 10.8K likes or hearts.

How do they respond? How would you? Give a big thanks, or treat is like just another day?

On the business front, my partner Dr. Elaine Gillaspie, owner of drmolepdx.com, has buttoned up her mole removal work with Dr. Darm’s clinic in Lake Oswego.

She’s still doing work with the Ellman Surgitron and patients interested in a less invasive mole removal procedure can be referred by Dr. Darm’s office, contact her new clinic through her website, or call 503-245-6516.

Book writing, the cancer warming memoir I’m working on, has been to the editor twice with a third visit coming in December.

At 90K words and 350 pages double spaced twelve point Times font, it’s a whopper.

I saw book people recently in the Portland Art Museum book fair. It was a joy being around so many writers and readers and art. Part of the trip downtown was to see the Edward Hopper work on loan.

It was a little disappointing, the Hopper, not the Portland Book Festival.

The joke about writing, that’s it’s fun but the paperwork is hard, couldn’t be more real. This thing is huge, but the more rewrites the smaller it gets. At least in ideas connecting the story together.

The best news is the elections got attention, new people are heading to Washington, D.C., and I’m closer every day to finding new insights to shine out from here.
