How America Sees Oregon Roads, How Oregon Sees Portland Roads

NEVER MISTAKEN FOR I-5 BY OREGONIANS, OFTEN MISTAKEN BY THE REST (just outside my backdoor)

One joy of living here is outdoor access.

Whether it’s a park or a wilderness area, you’re never far from the wonders of nature.

But misconceptions still find traction.

America thinks of Oregon as a lightly tread piece of land.

Those living outside the Metro area see Portland as a necessary evil to avoid.

Portland is not China, and never will be.

Sure, there’s a slowdown during rush hour, but nothing like Seattle or LA.

You don’t have to park on a specific side of the street every day of the week like San Francisco either.

Portland baby boomers keep their hands on the wheel and drive out.

Then they drive back home. They even cross the Hawthorne Bridge.

Help keep Oregon safe. Drive like a geezer.
