Deliverables Packaged For Use, Not Admiration

deliverables

People used to the limelight have an instinct to show their best side.

Movie stars know where the cameras are, where their marks are to stand, and what to say.

Call them a spokespeople delivering emotional content to the emotionally starved.

Emotionally starved? Yes.

How else can you explain the popularity of romance books, movies, and television? They all reach for the emotions we’ve got hidden away for special times.

Love.
Kindness.
Decency.
Friendship.
And the rest.

Feelings are so private it’s embarrassing to see someone so open to showing them when you least expect it.

Who hasn’t accidentally seen themselves in a mirror with an expression of fear, or anger, or threat? More important, who’s seen themselves look all nasty and mean and thought, “Damn, looking good right there.”

Look at that reflection and ask, ‘When does this face belong in public?’

Here’s a quick answer: Never. Be a good example and keep your feelings in check, especially the ones that create your monster face.

Too often we get deliverables wrapped in something hard to look at. The lady in the top image is delivering something I can’t imagine, but it doesn’t look like peace, love, or understanding. And it doesn’t look funny.

Lately these faces have been showing up more often, as if they’ve got permission to hit high beam ugly.

Look, I hope the lady on the right is a good person, a good neighbor, and a fun person to run into around town. And that something unusual triggered her smile.

I admit I don’t know the circumstances, but from appearances she looks ready to rumble, ready to inject fear with the super power of her face.

The other people look frightened enough to run away if that was the goal, if driving people away with snarls and barks are real deliverables.

Maybe the lady is a blogger? What would her topics be? Which key words would you expect to find?

Or she might be a big twitter star. Where would you guess her followers come from?

Facebook was made for her face? What if her entire family walked around with the same expression? Perfect for Instagram?

The caption that came with the picture:

This is but one of a few reasons why the Klan used to religiously wear hoods. Trump has changed all that. Now, they no longer hide their hateful heads, but take pride in them. It’s ! “” hats are the new “hood.”

Look at the picture for face value and what are the deliverables you feel in your emotionally starved heart?

Not romance?
