DISAPPOINTING DALLAS LAST CALL FOR 2023

Disappointing Dallas played its last football game of the year.
And they are disappointed.
How disappointed?
Disappointed in their coach and quarterback? That disappointed?
Maybe?

Dallas Cowboys fans have been disappointed before, but this one hits differently.
The coach lost to his old team. At home. The same team that kept Dallas out of the first two Super Bowls.
That alone was disappointing.
Bart Starr didn’t hit the field Sunday, but he would have approved of Jordan Love.
And Dak.
Is it time to add Dandy to Dak, the second coming of Dandy Don Meredith?

Cowboy Love Never Ends

Dandy Don couldn’t get the Cowboys over the hump.
Craig Morton was the answer.
Then Roger the Dodger got them to the top.
Danny White came close.
Then along came Romo and another retread in Bill Parcels before making way for Jason Garrett.
In a special role as Teacher’s Pet to Jerry Jones general managing, he couldn’t get to the last game and finish.
So why not bring in another ‘experienced’ coach to lead the way to the promised land.
But the promise of a first round playoff loss? Not so promising.
Since I’m not a bandwagon jumper, I don’t place blame on the players or coaches.

Jerry Jones Love

Jerry Jones swept into the NFL as a fresh breath.
He brought Jimmy Johnson with him, another fresh breath.
Together they revived the lifeless Cowboys by showing former coach Tom Landry the door.
It was a new day in Dallas and it felt good.
Then it got better.
They were a picture of greatness.
How ‘Bout Them Cowboys?
The only problem I saw at the time was Jerry Jones getting NFL lessons from Al Davis and Raider Nation.
The lesson?
You don’t have to win to make money.

Disappointing Dallas With Love

Dak will get his time in the brightest lights.
Will they be on the field, or alongside Tony Romo in the box?
If I have one hope for him it’s to not go off the rails like two out of the last three guys in Green Bay.

My hope for Coach Mike?
That he and Jerry keep adding to the recipe for success.
It may not be a Super Bowl recipe, but it’s good enough to drive die-hard fans to extremes.

Is it, “Go Cowboys,” or, “What the hell is going on out there?”
I know what’s going on with disappointing Dallas.
They need more Jimmy, not more Jerry.
If education matters to bloggers, to baby boomers, to sports fans, we’ve seen the look on Dak’s face under pressure.
Someone isn’t learning fast enough.
I might be me, and that hurts.
How can I be forced to feel so disappointed?
Because I’m a fan; it comes with the territory.
