HEALING PROCESS? “BUT YOU LOOK FINE.”

healing process

The healing process starts after a problem is identified. At least that’s the normal step.

‘Normal’ being the operative word.

If something feels off, you get checked out, and you were right.

Something is indeed ‘Off.’

It’s a lump, a bump, a mole, a dry cough, night sweats, chest discomfort. Need I go on?

Why not?

It’s a toe, a shoulder, a tic, a rash, a bruise, a tooth.

I’ll stop here, but when does the healing process start?

Why not ask ‘When did the healing end’ instead?

In some world healing is bad word, an excuse used to check out of ordinary life activities.

“Could you take the garbage out?”

“Yes, but I’m healing.”

“When will you be done?”

“Couple of months ought to do the trick. Can it wait until then?”

No, it can’t wait. Why? Because life goes on whether you go on or not. That garage isn’t going to take itself out.

So who and what sets the limits on healing?

Yesterday I wrote about reconnecting with people you haven’t seen for too long.

As usual it went somewhere unexpected.

Reconnective Healing Time?

My intent was writing about personal connections and joy they bring, along with everything else in the life experience.

I mentioned the idea of Reconnective Tissue during a visit to the tap house and to my own joy a patron seemed excited about the topic.

“Reconnective tissue like muscle fascia?”

“No, more like the Kleenex that absorbs tears of happiness.”

And we both laughed.

But there was more to it while I did my own research, and by the way, I know how to do proper research.

Still, I had no idea about Reconnective Therapy.

Now I do, and it comes with a handy disclosure:

RCT is an alternative nonmedical/nonpsychological healing art based on the emerging field of energy medicine. There is a distinction between “healing” as described above when applying RCT and the practice of medicine, psychotherapy, or any other licensed health care practice. Participating in an Awareness and Transformation Group is not a substitute for seeking professional health care diagnosis or treatment.

Healing Process Accepts No Substitutes

If you get hurt and don’t finish the healing process to the end, you’re still hurt.

You can’t run very fast with a hurt leg, can’t throw very far with a hurt arm. The problem with physical ailments like a leg or an arm is we usually think we’re healed too soon.

So we crank it up and make the injury worse.

Emotions are a different bag of cats. What’s that supposed to mean?

Look, we all have emotions. Some of us have better control over our emotions under stress, while others fall to pieces.

Ask me how I know this?

You don’t have to watch Tennessee lose a home game to Ole Miss, then fans pummeling them with trash after the game. They were out of control enough to warrant a $250K fine from the SEC.

They’ve got some healing ahead of them; turns out we could all use some healing, even if we don’t know we need some healing.

Boomers get this analogy better than anyone today:

Imagine you are playing an LP record. You put the needle on the edge in the last groove, and it will continue to move toward the center as the music plays. That needle is like a mantra. You put it anywhere on the record, which is your mind, and then start to repeat the mantra. Gradually, the mantra brings you to the center of your mind and your being.

About The Top Image

That’s a quarter on the right, but you know that.

To the left is a chunk of styrofoam representing a tumor from last year.

After a year of medical treatment and observation, the middle square is the size of the tumor today.

This learning moment shows progress with the help of science.

I’m not comparing cancer to covid, but this patient will not die of cancer because they followed the established protocol.

Today we’ve learned the protocol for covid, too, but to what end? Not the end of covid. Not yet.

Instead, the damaging words of people in authority undermine the effort. They ‘do their own research’ at the same time pushing that process ahead of the scientific data.

In a more perfect world there is no such thing as cancer or covid. But, that’s not the world we live in.

I believe that good people will come to their good senses and live better lives by ignoring the bullshit spewed by attention seeking hacks.

If you draw an audience by being a huge a-hole, guess what the near future and beyond requires? More of the same. But what if you have a crisis of conscience after you build your empire of a-holiness?

Be the sort of person your jerk audience needs you to be, and lie. How hard can that be?

Ask Fox News with their company vaccine mandate and prove of vaccine mandate while harping on their audience about their freedoms to be anti-vaxx and anti-mask.

Does anyone here tune in to the thoughts and prayers of irresponsible hosts?
