The Last Beer Call Champion: Breakside Brewery IPA.

After traveling coast to coast, Breakside blew the competition away.

Drinking every beer in Portland since Grant’s and Red Hook were the only new beers on the rack shows how good Breakside is.

Call it scientific research. You want to be certain of the results.

The competition was fierce.

The east coast beers use NW hops? Highland does.

It came in a distant second; every contender was a distant second for last beer call.

More than hops and names, good beer is balanced beer.

You don’t need more alcohol for balance.

Just a good recipe.

North Street, West Street, East Street, nothing compares to the side of the street Breakside rules.

For better or worse, Becks had a good run in my garage.

Just not good enough to qualify for Last Beer Call and Best Last Beer.

Breakside is the last beer call winner, and you’ll find it at Safeway.

In 2014 Breakside was awarded the highly coveted Gold Medal for American-Style IPA at the Great American Beer Festival for their flagship Breakside IPA, which was also named to Men’s Journal’s 100 Best Beers In The World and “The Best Beer in Oregon” by The Oregonian.

Breakside is known for their wide ranging portfolio of beers, including barrel-aged and sour beers like Bourbon Barrel-Aged Aztec, a strong amber ale with chocolate and chilies, and Passionfruit Sour a fruited berliner-weisse style beer that earned a Gold Medal at the 2017 Best of Craft Beer Awards.

Additionally, Breakside was named Brewery of the Year at the 2017 Oregon Beer Awards and the 2017 Best of Craft Beer Awards.

In March 2017, Breakside opened its third location in the Slabtown district of Northwest Portland.

Breakside NW sits between Overton and Raleigh on 22nd.

If you find yourself wondering what’s next in the beer world, take a break.

No new beers on the near horizon? Take some drinking time off.

Recharge your batteries with a last beer call of Breakside IPA.

Do that, along with some time to think about what you’ll be missing during the break, and you’ll have a great memory to reflect on.
