MILLENNIAL LeBRON, APPLE PIE, AND GOING HOME

He Called Four Years In Miami His College, And He Graduated With No Debt? Score!
LeBron Shows America How To Go Home.

LeBron Shows America How To Go Home.

When the ground moves beneath your feet, you know what to do.

1. Avoid falling objects.

2. Stand in a doorway.

The foundation’s been shifting ever since the Sixties. We’re used to it, but it’s still a surprise when it happens.

It shifted today, but first a reference.

Anyone who didn’t see Martin Luther King’s ‘I Have A Dream’ speech when it happened has seen the clip.

It’s as mesmerizing and important now as it was then. That ground still shakes.

Today another event shook hard.

Today, LeBron James, King James, turned his back on the American Dream Miami-style.

Everyone but LBJ dreams of a life in Miami with the rich and famous, with Crockett and Tubbs. Instead, he packs his bags for Cleveland, Ohio. The Cleveland Ohio.

Why?

After one if his Miami titles he said, “I don’t even know what I’m doing here, I’m just a kid from Akron.”

With ‘I Have A Dream’ Dr. King pitched a new future to work toward, and America is still on that job.

Today, King James took a swing at conventional wisdom, at doing the expected, and homered to the deep center of America by choosing Cleveland over Miami.

Good-bye modern international city, a must see for vacationing Europeans and Iowa farmers and a gateway for too many others.

Hello Cleveland, the last city on Joakim Noah’s travel itinerary. Hey Joe, where you going with that talk? Who goes to Cleveland? LeBron, that’s who. Enjoy the payback.

He’s going home so every little kid in America who wants to grow up to be him knows how important home is.

That’s America talking American talk and walking the American walk all the way to Cleveland. If LeBron can do that much, everyone else can do a little more.

Instead of being a star in your firmament, be strong like LeBron and make a new sky with no limits.

Thank you, King. Jordan never did that for us.
