Self defense: a response to threat?

Or a response to advertised threat?

Then it hits:

“Free Street Fighting Knife.”

It’s a special knife made for fighting.

Street fighting knife? I might need a street fighting knife?

You might need a street fighting knife?

Okay, then where do we get frog and snake poison?

Can we use moldy food in the back of the fridge instead?

Self Defense Weaponry

SELF DEFENSE

Men’s Health breaks it down for the manly men in the audience:

Michael Corwin is a former private investigator for 30+ years, where he conducted witness interviews for civil plaintiffs and criminal defense cases in places like South Central LA and Albuquerque, NM.

This sounds like an authority to me. How about you?

“In all reality, firearms are really not that great as a self-defense weapon,” says Corwin.

What? Firearms are not good for self defense?

Don’t you need an armory of AR-15s for night work, undercover work, for perimeter patrol?

AR15.com asks how many are enough?

Back to Mr. Corwin:

“The very best self-defense weapon is your brain,” says Corwin. “Provided that you learn how to pattern and make automatic situational awareness, this is the only self-defense weapon that allows you to AVOID a risk to your safety,” says Corwin.

As someone who has carried all sorts of self-defense weapons in their long career, Corwin said if he had to name a favorite tangible self-defense weapon he’d choose a tactical flashlight.

Do you like this guy as much as I do?

Tactical Flashlight.

My Tactical Keyboard Story

SELF DEFENSE

One day I needed some self defense advice.

So I asked myself since I’m a state champion wrestler, Army veteran, and occasional strong man.

Also a former Boy Scout.

I had a problem in the neighborhood with some guys I’d seen before.

Did I need a gun, a knife, a flashlight?

No, no, and no. But I thought about it.

After I got punched in the face unexpectedly and got the guy arrested in front of his crew, I needed some back-up.

What I got was the thickest dog chain I could find, a ‘reach out and touch someone’ chain.

In other words, I used my brain, not tactical email or popular fear.

If I got in a spot I’d whip that chain and run off. In those days I was quite the runner.

Would I get shot in the back? Find a knife flying by?

I know what I wouldn’t find, one of the guys running me down.

With that in mind, dear readers, plan on staying fit and staying smart.

Make the lifestyle changes you need to get there.
