TAKING STEPS ONE AFTER ANOTHER

TAKING STEPS

With any luck we’re taking steps. Right direction, or wrong, we’re taking steps.

There’s nothing quite like insoles with affirmations to start those steps.

Though the intentions are good, the application falls flat.

How many good things start with such promise?

Take blogs for example, single writer blogs that work to scoop out a place where there’s too much space. Anyone can put one up for nothing, and they do. Lots of them.

Successful blogs find a niche, a micro-niche, finding an under-served market with a thirst for unique information.

Some blogs strive to engage. It’s a noble striving I don’t take lightly, that engagement.

This blog is about taking steps, the steps leading to better outcomes and a better future. I’ve got three readers in Beaverton as proof. They read more posts than anyone.

Since I’m closing in on 3000 posts all expertly archived, tagged, and bagged, there’s plenty to read, if I do say myself.

I’m not a teacher, but I did apply to every MAT program in town. It seemed like the right thing to do after my kids aged out of my coaching ambitions.

With an American History degree heavy in literature, and those soul searching academic committee interviews, I take a different angle on the topics I choose. And topics you choose, too.

One of my readers thought a post was too political. This engagement blogger wrote a series of political posts as a reward. Everyone needs more of those about much as they need an extra flyer in their mailbox.

I’m here to help, starting with:

George Washington may have chopped down a cherry tree? I’m satisfied that he chopped something down.

Lincoln may have edged the truth, but he had a good memory.

No one watching the tailgate party at the Capitol on Jan. 6 has but one conclusion: they broke the law and face repercussions. Instead of relying on their own good judgement the people were swayed to act out.

My lesson plan for the future: If you want to learn how to take orders and what they sound like, join the Army. No matter your spiritual believes, the President of the United States is not giving you direct orders from God to riot and storm with a blanket pardon.

Explain that to the judge at sentencing.

What I’m Here For

TAKING STEPS

I’m here for taking steps leading to a better life and encouraging the same.

That’s my big lesson, take steps leading to a better life.

And that, my friends, begins with the right pair of shoes, ending with the right insoles.

Pay attention kids, the right shoes/insoles match will take you where you want to go.

If you happen to find yourself learning the inner-workings of a political mind-set you’ll be glad you’ve got good shoes.

Things get jumpy when you walk the walk on flat insoles.

Besides, you’ll stand taller in the right shoes. You’ll see over the pat answers to complex problems, the word combinations of the newly awoken, and a sense of unfound urgency.

The Right Feel For Taking Steps

TAKING STEPS

I recommend the SOLE insole. It’s cork and it squeaks, so there goes your stealth.

Other than the noise they’re just firm enough with give at the right times.

These are the shoes I’m going to wear while I recover from hip replacement. Giving myself a pep talk here.

I got them at REI along with the insoles. They feel like a foot massage.

These are the shoes I will wear during dog training, which means lots of long walks.

My new dog is 4-5 months old and already weighs 40 lbs. We looked at a growth spread that said she might weigh 100 lbs full grown.

Those are the shoes I’ll ride that horse with. Wish me luck.
