TRICKLE DOWN JUSTICE STARTS AT THE TOP

Trickle down justice is different than trickle down economics where the rich get richer with tax breaks.

In one the results are more visible:

People get charged, tried, and sentenced if guilty.

We’re not left wondering, ‘Do the 1% really give up their haul so the minimum wage workers in their companies can afford the basics?’

Or is there a deeper mystery to trickle down justice?

News programs and social media are full of hope and dismay over the Jan. 6 insurrection anniversary.

One side hopes it all goes away because it was just a peaceful tour group inside the Capitol on Jan. 6.

The other is dismayed that grown men and women promote the idea of Jan. 6 as a peaceful tour group.

Love, Peace, And Trickle Down Justice

TRICKLE DOWN JUSTICE

The Atlantic Magazine has a run of pictures from the Jan. 6 tour.

They look like Germans crashing the Berlin Wall. Those people were peaceful, too.

In comparing the two, it’s as if the Capitol had been an evil barrier separating friends and families due to an arbitrary line in the cement, along with opposing ideologies. But without the barbed wire and rifle towers and guards.

As much as the hype declares, America is not walled off by the Capitol in Washington D.C.

And I was sad to see some of the participants backgrounds on OPB last night, which showed 50% of them identify as ‘white collar’ professionals, with 10% in attendance as veterans.

I’ll try and identify with the crowd: I’m a veteran, a former PFC. That stands for Private First Class, Enlisted rank of 3, as in E-3.

For context, a bootcamp trainee is an E-1, a Private is an E-2. As you can tell, I was burning through the ranks.

Am I an embittered Vietnam-Era veteran who feels cheated and robbed and disrespected and irrelevant and cancelled and passed over and replaced?

Do I wallow in self-pity and sorrow until I’m uplifted by some dandy-man who promises he can make it all better if I vote for him?

My life plan is being the best husband possible, along with being a responsible parent. I listen to my wife and kids, I mean really listen. It’s not easy, but they are more believable than a reality showman surrounding himself with a skunk works full of suck-ups.

Call me boring.

At the same time I’m not on the look-out for trickle down justice as a ‘person of interest.’

I’m also not threatening violence on the wife and kids if they report me for a trip to D.C. where I picked up a few souvenirs.

I Hope This Is Helpful, If That’s What You Read For, And You Do, Come On

TRICKLE DOWN JUSTICE

Right away you should know that I’m not consulting my pocket Constitution for any of the following.

This is a safe place to say you don’t remember the difference between the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution. Relax.

Unlike your average rabble-rousing, screaming and pointing, TV-Man; unlike the average insurrectionist screed blogger, you won’t find some prophetic revelation read between the lines of either from me.

About those lines. This is from the National Archives. Maybe you’ve been in the building. Maybe you teared up passing by the documents. Maybe you heard weeping. Maybe it was you?

Well, it wasn’t me, those were sneezes and a runny nose. Maybe a little weep. Click the blue words.

Our Man Mr. Trump And Trickle Down Justice

As President, Mr. Trump has things to answer for, as all former presidents do.

Remember Reagan out of office?

The job of being president includes other Constitutional duties. You can find them up in the Constitution link above.

I found on this handy study guide.

Annotation 16 – Article II

Article II – The President As Law Enforcer

One of the most important jobs of the President of the United States is his constitutional requirement to “take care that the laws be faithfully executed.” So not only is a president supposed to shape policy, they are meant to ensure existing laws and the Constitution are upheld. In a way, this makes the president a top-level law enforcer. But, as we outline below, it’s not always that simple.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does Article II say?

Your favorite blogger has it right here.

Whether you think the head of the FBI is the top cop, or the US Attorney General, I’m going with the Commander In Chief Of All Armed Forces On Earth And Space.

You, as an American citizen, no matter your belief or politics, politics or belief, now have Mr. Trump as Our Man Mr. Trump for all of us, and the same rules apply to him as they do us.

He may have presidented one way, but as a former president he needs to answer to all of us.

Reagan did it.

Or, if not answer to us, give us a few credible fall guys.

Nixon did it.

Try not to send a man with most non-prison name, Scooter Libby.

Scooter did time for perjury and obstruction, not insurrection.

“. . . convicted in 2007 of perjury and obstruction of justice in the investigation of the 2003 leak of CIA operative Valerie Plame’s identity.”

Trickle down justice is happening, and no one likes turning themselves in. No one.

Final question: Who do you feel worse for:

Militant insurrectionists going to prison?

Militant anti-vaxxers getting Covid?

I’ll take your answers in comments.
