Staying Strong In Later Life For Just In Case?

In an era of tablets and smart phones, who reads Time? Who subscribes?

From the looks of most doctors’ offices, medical people like Time.

Why? Think of the patients. The older they are, the more likely they grew up with Time.

They still read words on paper more than online. They need Time and Time needs them.

With all that need, why would Time tease this:

A seventy four year old Japanese man, a heart attack survivor, looks fresh and healthy in 2008. Why? Because he’s still on the job, though part time.

What’s his job?

Elderly porn star. From Time:

“Shigeo Tokuda is, in fact, his screen name. He prefers not to disclose his real name because, he insists, his wife and daughter have no idea that he has appeared in about 350…”

350…?

My guess is he’s been in about 350 porn clips, or movies, or something. But Time asks if you want to subscribe to get THE FULL STORY from 2008.

Apparently he’s still working the big screen in 2014. Here’s the rest of the story, with apologies to Paul Harvey.

The now 79 year old started his movie career when he was 59. Is this good news for baby boomers looking for their second act, their encore career, as solopreneurs?

For instance, what would motivate a 59 year old boomer blogger to engage the porn industry more than writing a post about it? Call it treatment for a sex addiction diagnosis? An alternative to joining a gym? A reason to get out of the house and meet people?

None sound good yet.

If you hear Ricky Ricardo explaining this idea of Lucy on I Love Lucy, you’re not alone.

“Honey, I’m home, and you won’t believe the day I had at my new job.”

“Oh, Ricky.”

While boomerpdx avoids most profanity and hot-button topics, elder porn in Japan is neither. Instead it’s another lens into the culture of an aging society. America could  be next.

The best part of the article from the last link? Shigeo Tokuda is not Ron Jeremy in disguise.

To stay on the safe side, AARP turned their watch dog loose to explain the “6 Ways Porn Can Hurt Your Sex Life.”

Only six?

Time responds with six graphs depicting changes in porn popularity. Call it a potential career booster shot, or what you need to know before diving into that pool.

Swim wear optional.
