HOW “DON’T TELL ME WHAT TO DO” PEOPLE FOLLOW DIRECTIONS

follow directions

Hard headed people know what to do, so don’t bother telling them anything and expect them to follow directions.

“Don’t walk on the edge of a bridge over the Tualatin River,” someone had to have said.

Who listened before hopping up and taking big steps? They were easy directions to follow. Not a life changer.

Not like wearing a mask. You’re wearing a mask? Good.

I’ve given some thought to following directions, about doing what you’re told, doing what I’m told. Yes, no matter how old or young, there’s always someone you love telling you what to do. At least that’s their story.

“I only tell you what to do because I love you,” is the common refrain.

And it’s said with love, too.

“Did you hear me? I said I only tell you . . .”

“Okay, I heard you. Now you’re telling me to listen? Telling me more to do?”

More to do?

Listen, do you ever want to hear morons talk at high volume? And I mean moronic, big moronic.

“What did you do?”

“I did what you said.”

“I didn’t say that.”

“I did what you told me to do.”

“No you didn’t because I never said that.”

“Yes you did. Don’t think this was my idea. I was just following directions.”

“Then stop. Stop now.”

“You just like telling everyone what to do, don’t you. I’ll stop when I feel like stopping. That’s when I’ll stop. So stand back.”

When this is the talk you hear, along with wearing a mask is a personal freedom choice, you’re headed for Moron River.

Along the way, think of the coming elections and the people who champion clean air and clean water, who want regulations in place so us citizenry don’t get poisoned by industrial waste.

Look at the candidates pushing for deregulating industries and agreeing to police themselves. This is where millennial Americans need to focus their attention, this is the stuff they will live with the rest of their lives.

I’m going to tell you what to do here. Vote Joe Biden. You can do it.
