MEDICAL MARIJUANA FOR A DOSE OF CANCER

Medical marijuana? Isn’t that just an excuse to get loaded without consequences, like jail? That’s what Pat thinks. I caught a rather painful case of cancer and tried one oxy pill, and one nip of liquid oxy, which changed nothing.

Why would marijuana be different?

At a desperate moment I tried a weed brownie for medical relief rather than for the hell of it. MedMar helped turn the corner without addiction. It offered pain relief and mental relief.

Maybe you’ve heard about cancer people getting a little caught up in the disease and treatment schedule? It’s a whirlwind that gets darker before it gets lighter. Who doesn’t need help in a whirlwind? When nothing else worked, weed did. I’d be more interested in Mr. Kennedy’s opinion if he had cancer instead of his own basket of addictions and rehab diplomas.

This isn’t to wish cancer on anyone, but people against the idea of marijuana as a medical remedy are missing the point unless they talk to cancer people. The stuff works, works well enough without the blowback.

Instead of people like Mr. Sessions pushing hard to get weed back in the bag, why not make it available with less conflict?

Instead of name brand speakers like Ted Kennedy’s fifty year old son bringing their own sense of rehab desperation to the medical marijuana debate, look at the results medmar makes for desperate parents looking for something to help their kid.

Googled it right here.

Before making an announcement on marijuana, spend time in a cancer room where patients log each minute closer to death, or closer to the next chemo, or closer to the next radiation, or surgery, or transplant. They’re time isn’t normal time you find on a clock face. They are on cancer time.

Let’s do a little math. Add cancer and marijuana together. You get a new angle on suffering, a new light of hope that you won’t spend the rest of your life dragging around a ravaged body full of side effects from hard drug pain killers, cancer drug knock outs, and radiation scarred skin.

Cancer people see other cancer people, cancer veterans, people doing special cancer studies, the sort of experimental work after nothing else works. They know what’s in store for them, that it won’t be as easy as they’ve heard.

I heard I’d get a sore throat during treatment for neck cancer. Verrrrry understated. I subbed weed brownies for opioids and anti-anxiety pills based on the science of addiction? Which science is that, you ask? The science that says I would have been swallowing lots of oxy for the cancer treatment pain, then got a refill and swallowed a bunch more.

That was the plan I ditched, the same plan medical marijuana users ditch when they find themselves shuttled from one cycle of ineffectual pills to another. You may want to ditch the advice of a fired up mental health crusader like Patrick Kennedy with the sort of dire warnings that make Reefer Madness look calm.
