How can you tell when boomers grow up?

When you wonder how you got where you are, it’s nice to have a reminder.

Find a place that’s yours, where it would take some nosing around to find.

That’s where the Shelf of Fame goes.

It’s not for everyone to see, just a reminder of your trail.

My shelf holds high school letters, a college letter, a marathon medal, and a Hood To Coast bracelet.

When I look at it I think of the words of North Bend mayor Rick Wetherell, “Thank God We’re Bulldogs.”

It shortens to tgwb.

And it’s such a good thanks.

When boomers grow up and put their stuff in a box, that’s one box too many.
