COCKFOSTERS SOUNDS RIGHT IN LONDON AND PORTLAND

LONDON

Young and old alike can look at a Northwest Portland neighborhood map and figure out the street naming theme.

Ankeny, Burnside, Couch, Davis, Everett, Flanders, Glison, Hoyt, Irving, Johnson, and the rest of the alphabet.

City planners must have taken the idea from the London Underground?

London

Start with the Piccadilly Line, take the tube from the Cockauger station past the Cockburner stop, past Cockcrusher, Cockdamage, Cockemergency, and change at Cockfosters for Cockgrater, Cockhider, Cockinsurance, and find a way out at Cockknocker.

Why is it called Cockknocker?

Well, it isn’t. But the lady’s voice on the subway ended every announcement of the next stop on the Piccadilly Line with, “Ending at Cockfosters.”

I’m glad to see others’ reaction riding the Tube to Cockfosters.

All so much London fun.
