FIRST PITCH JUDGEMENT? WARM UP YOUR ARM

first pitch

The ceremonial first pitch of the baseball season brings out the critics; then when it goes wrong they feel justified.

That an older man doesn’t bring the high inside heat, or snap off a sharp hook across the plate seems like failure to critics. All they want is more.

Look, we all want more, but a first pitch is what we get, and it’s good. Some are better than others, but kudos to the men and women who take the mound on opening day.

Chances are good that folks with a bad throwing motion know they have a poor mechanics. Yet, they go out and wing it the best they can.

After reviewing presidential arms, one stand out: Eisenhower. He was a gamer.

Young Bush had the arm, but he was supposed to. The arm Eisenhower showed was one for the ages. Did he throw a pitch during WWII?

Yes, he did.

Dr. Fauci’s pitch, while a little outside the strike zone, sent a message consistent with how he carries on. He showed up, assessed the situation, and delivered.

The man wore a mask when he didn’t have to. He did it to show what a role model does.

Did he know about his arm? Of course, just like you know about your arm.

Some say it takes a pair to show up when you’ve got an idea how things will go. He showed up, shows up, and demonstrates what it takes to be a great American.

I believe in Dr. Fauci’s arm, and his mission against covid. He’s been bringing chin music to the public with every appearance.

When you need a closer in a tight game, who you gonna call?

If Mariano Rivera is busy, tap the right arm for the good doctor. Put the ball in the right hands.
