FLOWERS CELEBRATE AS SEASONS COME AND GO

flowers celebrate

Flowers celebrate every year on this fence.

They all wait their turn to shine. The last one never sees the first one.

The queen of the fence asks, “Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? Caught in a landslide, no escape from reality. Open your eyes, look up to the skies and see.”

Every bud is poised and ready for its close-up.

Like fireworks in the night sky, this flower celebrates in broad daylight.

How many more buds? Lots, but not before they’re called.

Is a flower an apt metaphor for life as we know it?

While you think about it, yes they are, especially when flowers celebrate their moment in the sun.

Do flowers take time? Are they needy? Finally, what is the benefit of tending flowers if they’re just going to die anyway?

Because they are delicate and beautiful and they unfold in wonderful ways.

Real life carries the same attributes. It takes strong people to care for others.

You’ve seen the results of turning a blind eye to the less fortunate among us. It doesn’t end well for either side.

And we’ve seen the results of a poor gardener churning things up. The good goes out with the bad when choices go wrong.

Take a moment to admire a flower and see if it makes you a better person. If you go into a sneezing fit, find another flower.

Watch that flower and how time passes differently. It’s a peaceful exercise. Go ahead and stare a few more seconds.

Ahhh, wasn’t that nice? Now take that same feeling and apply it other places. It’s not hard to do. Look for beauty and you’ll find it.

If not, keep looking. It’s out there and closer than you think.

Closer than I thought, too.
