HGTV ACCUSATIONS BY TIKTOKERS? UH OH

HGTV accusations by anyone is a surprise around here.

My wife is a fan, so that makes me a fan since we’re married and like spending time together.

All I’ve ever seen are happy ending, which is quite a change from one of ‘our’ other favorite shows: Law & Order: SVU.

The difference between the two shows? In one, accusations play out in a court of law, the other by a jury of TikTokers.

Sound fair to you?

What would a TikToker do? HGTV accusations on Yahoo is just the start.

If they had had a company like Pivotal Property Management Solutions vetting their project instead of the HGTV crew, they would have had few, if any, videos to share.

“HGTV bragged about these beautiful marble countertops,” @niftynest says, displaying photos of the waterfall bar and counters, “when, in fact, it was just plywood and contact paper over it.”

While it’s unclear whether the countertops were marble at the time of filming and perhaps were switched out by buyers later, many TikTokers expressed their own alleged experiences with HGTV in the comments.

No HGTV Accusations For These Countertops

I know a nice married couple who wanted to change up their kitchen countertops.

After re-grouting tile over and over with varying degrees of DIY results they decided to change everything to quartz that looked like marble.

They bought locally, hired a recommended fabricator, and loved the results.

Until the quartz on the kitchen island cracked.

They called the company and the fab-guy and did it all again.

And a year or so later, the new quartz also cracked. In the same place.

This time the quartz company blamed the fabricator; the fab-man blamed the company.

The homeowners had a problem, don’t you agree?

The Fabricator Man answered all questions, any questions, when he said he’d replace the quartz island countertop for no charge. He said he’d even buy the material to be installed.

All the clients needed to do was choose what they wanted and set a date.

When I heard this from a tradesman it went against the grain of every other I’d heard stories about.

This is a man dedicated to reinventing contractor services.

He is going all the way for his customers while the quartz supplier is still working to find a solution they can live with.

One thing is certain, if you pay for a level of quality, you should get that level of quality.

Instead of contact paper over plywood, or formica glued to plywood, the couple is looking forward, after three years and two cracked countertops, to a quality solution.

For this blogger, the conversation goes beyond pointing fingers at entitled baby boomers, complaining Karens, and people disgruntled with their life choices.

People want change, pay for change, and are unhappier than they were before they started.

And also lighter in their wallet.

Another TikToker has devoted his account to sharing examples of the allegedly shoddy workmanship he claims “Renovation Impossible” inflicted upon his home. He says fixing the problems has ended up costing him his entire life savings.

What is the solution? Who could have helped guide the process better?
