OREGON EXPERIENCE: WHAT TO EXPECT IF YOU’RE NEW TO THE STATE

Cool Cat In Oregon

People come from far and wide for the Oregon experience.

They leave with gratitude for their time here, and make plans to return.

After thrilling at the waterfalls, mountains, and beaches, they see places like Kansas and Oklahoma through new eyes. They take the Oregon experience home and make it work.

By the way, what is this Oregon Experience?

Oregon Golf In Bandon

Whether you play golf or not, make plans that include Bandon.

Fly into Portland, rent a car, and aim further west. Draw a line on a map from the airport to the ocean and find a road that looks good.

Hwy 30 runs along the Oregon side of the Columbia River. Take that road and play explorer. One of you is Lewis, the other Clark. Pick up Hwy 101 in Astoria and head south.

Or, for a nice run through amazing farmland, find Hwy 26. Up the foothills to the coast range, through a pass, all the way to 101. Again, turn left.

Down the coast shows bays and bridges and boats, but nothing like you’ll find approaching North Bend. If you’re a golfer, keep going. If you want an Oregon experience to take home, this is it.

The adventure includes beach cliff trails, wetlands, estuaries, and sand dunes, along with clams, oysters, and salmon. People from less diverse lands are amazed at the degree of change ten miles inland from the coast.

In other states, ten miles any direction is still corn, or wheat, fields, which are amazing if you’ve ever planted a garden. Oregon changes from sand, to coastal grasses, to forest in short distance.

If golf is the goal, this is the environment to expect further on down the road.

Or Get Loaded For The Oregon Experience

Stoner tourism is based on destination.

Amsterdam?

Hippie, stoner, and pothead are all negative stereotypes of ganja smokers that aren’t part of the marijuana culture in Amsterdam. Get an insight into the coffee shop culture and ganja scene in Amsterdam on a 2 or 2.5-hour guided walking tour.

Portland?

About: The Potlandia Experience is a Rock and Roll trip around Portland, designed to give you the ultimate sightseeing tour in a very cool consumption bus, so the answer to your question is
YES, you can smoke WEED on the BUS on the WEED tour

Walk or ride, part or the Oregon experience is the people, and they abide, man.

One Experience

I was raised here. My mom and dad chose Oregon over other states because of the VA housing deals. And my mom lived here. So, it was one or the other.

I grew up a little and ran off at nineteen, which isn’t running away since I was mostly an adult. I joined the Army and moved, as one does in the service. But I came back to UofO.

Two years later I ran off again and landed in New York City. I liked city living just fine, but the place was full of New Yorkers, so I moved to Portland. Best move of my life, otherwise I’d be posting from Brooklyn.

I brought my running shoes with me for the Cascade Run-Off, Seaside Marathon, and Hood-To-Coast, along with 10K races throughout the year.

One day I ran into a nice lady, married her, had kids, and boom, the Oregon Experience, the real life experience molded me like a piece of malleable mud, Oregon mud from some roasting mudflat.

Visit Oregon. What the hell, pull up your roots and move here. Just be ready for someone to change your life. That’s what we’re here for.
