TAKING ADVICE? DID ANYONE ASK PORTLAND PEOPLE ABOUT FENG SHUI?

taking advice

Taking advice is an art.

So is giving advice.

Can anyone giving advice no one wants to hear even listen?

That’s a problem that needs work.

This is how it’s done around here:

This is a blog of gentle reminders. You won’t find faux fire-breathing clickbait bullshit published for the sake of attention.

Based on headline news though, people love their fire-breathing clickbait bullshit just fine.

Add in guns, murder, law and order republicans, and soft on crime democrats for a perfect stew of stink.

What kind of help and advice do people need?

Let’s start with Portland People and move on to Oregon People. The rest of the world can take a lesson from right here in Portland, Oregon.

Needy Portland People Taking Advice?

The news, that isn’t new or fresh, is how much Portland doesn’t like camp grounds on city sidewalks.

They need their sidewalks clear of homeless camps so they don’t have to cross the downtown streets.

Fewer homeless camps downtown lowers the fear level?

My friend on SE Division has seen naked women wandering around more than once. She says they come from a homeless camp down the street.

If a naked woman in the city is up for taking advice, then she’d put clothes on.

When is the last time you walked around town naked? Never? Me too.

If I find myself naked in public I’d probably be in some hot spring destination.

A naked lady wandering around any neighborhood is a call for help.

My best advice is making a call to the Portland Women’s Crisis Line.

Who Wants Advice? Who Needs It?

Start with yourself.

Clean up your area. Wash your laundry. Pick that stuff out of the corner of your eye.

Why not take a shower?

Now imagine rolling out of a parking lot tent on this cold and wet gray Monday.

All set to meet the day with your four point agenda?

“It’s my sanctuary,” she said. “I wanted it to be that for other people too. People who don’t fit into society, people who are the rejects of the rejects of the rejects.”

She said no one living there has a job and the majority live off Social Security.

Portland police told KGW they were at the camp Friday night for a report of gunshots, but officers didn’t find any evidence of gunfire. They say they often get calls about this camp.

Grace said that if the city clears the camp, she won’t leave.

This is what happens when people decide to follow their own version of law.

It gets messy with the likelihood of more mess.

Like everyone else around the world, we makes messes. You, me, Portland people, and Grace.

And like everyone else, we try and keep it a manageable mess.

Who Takes Advice From Some Random Blogger

This is my internet outpost.

Like Grace, I consider boomerpdx an oasis of hope and clean information.

Sometimes I wonder who finds me. Who is it in San Francisco who sat on boomerpdx for half an hour reading fifteen posts?

Whoever it is can’t be any worse for the experience since I’m not recruiting, promoting, or getting into the danger zone.

Go ahead and look for an ‘online persona’ and tell me what you find?

I’ll help: it’s me for 3000 posts.

Look around for conspiracy theories. None? Not an accident.

I’m a trained historian with twenty years of historical agency work.

Me and my ilk don’t stand with conspiracy theories or conspiracy theorists. If we do, we have to turn in our professional historian card.

In other words, I take things seriously, even if they don’t seem like serious topics.

Manageable Mess For Portland People Taking Advice

If you live a Feng shui life, good job.

Five feng shui rules that should never be broken!

  • Be organized and tidy. This is first on the list for a reason! …
  • Keep your bed away from the window. Feng shui is very strict about this rule! …
  • Separate work and rest areas. …
  • Use the Bagua Map properly. …
  • Know your colors.

I live with a pile of mostly old furniture that impedes logic and pathways, but it works. It wouldn’t work for everyone.

When it doesn’t work for my wife, we change things.

On a bigger scale, problems start when people decide what Portland should look like without any consideration for others.

Part of that consideration is not forcing others to walk around your shit, in your shit, or through your shit.

Looking at Big Four Corners Natural Area.

Portland people want the city to make sense to them instead of looking like a trashed transfer hub for people who forgot where they were going.

They want that ‘Big City/Small Town’ feel back.

The feeling where you don’t know everyone but the city vibe turns strangers into good neighbors.

Who likes the sound of that?

I like to see people as good neighbors, as good people, instead of being seen for the piles of garbage they accumulate.

Change the lifestyle to change lives.
