TWITTER RULES: BREAK THEM AND GET A TIME OUT

twitter rules

Twitter rules have been enforced all along, so why dedicate a post?

Because I broke the rules and got banned , briefly banned.

My twitter ban lasted twelve hours. I would have been longer if I had done something wrong.

Like what, you ask?

My crime was warning about a video showing a former administration official talking on Fox News.

The man was barking out his story along with punching out the important parts with hand gestures between his face and the camera.

One of the gestures was a two fingered poke in the air, the same poke some of us got in the chest to focus our attention.

A man named Peter Navarro delivered the goods to a smiling Fox host.

All I said was I didn’t want this guy to accidentally knock himself out on live television and mess his hair up.

Fox Voice Of Authority Resume

Navarro is a good guest for Fox, bring the sort of authority they need to push their brand.

He’s had big jobs at high levels, the sort of jobs that make you wonder where they dug up a candidate.

When a company has a new job perfect for an employee to move up to, they still have to list the job, do the interviews. It’s like the NFL’s rule about interviewing minority candidates for head coaching jobs. They already know who is getting the job, but still go through the process.

The two administration jobs Pete held were positions that had no one before him and no one after him.

With those stellar credentials behind him he goes on Fox with his snarl and finger pointing and looks like a jackass attack dog in a loose collar.

Has he been banned for his ugliness, for the bile he spews, for sticking ear worms in vulnerable people? Where are twitter rules now?

Believing his bullshit is easy for Fox fans. Unlike his made up jobs, the Fox viewer need only sit still from one show to the next, one guest after another, who lay down the sort of rhetoric that kids got their mouths washed out for.

But, it’s a free country and a free twitter until you get banned, even briefly.

Jack Dorsey In Charge Of Twitter Rules?

First Rule: Safety

It includes, “You may not promote or encourage suicide or self-harm.

I got tagged for an insight gained from childhood games. One of them was sitting near someone in class, grabbing their wrist and throwing their arm at their body and ask, “Why are you hitting yourself?”

Dangerous.

It was almost as popular as telling a classmate you want to see how strong they are by pulling their arm while they try and keep it from going straight. When the pull guy lets go, the other guy socks himself in the face.

Someone on twitter had a childhood deprived of such high jinx and decided I was encouraging ‘self-harm.’

I’ll say it doesn’t read as well now as it did then, so no complaints, no excuses. I accepted the consequences.

But was I wrong to say I didn’t want some bootlicker to hurt themselves while they preened and pumped it out on the propaganda network. Yes, because I’d rather not see any of the sedition day people ever again. As an adult I know this is not possible, even with twitter rules applied.

More Smoke, Same A-holes

By now we’ve heard that the Jan. 6 rioters at the Capitol were peaceful protesters innocent of any law breaking. We also know they don’t like staying in jail, or favoritism when others get released for home stay instead of them, and they enjoy free roaming organic food over standard jail grub.

Added to the stinking pile are the anti-vaxxers, anti-maskers, and Covid19 hoaxers.

The former director of the Office of Trade and Manufacturing Policy, former director of the National Trade Council was on shit TV explaining how Dr. Anthony Fauci is to blame for the corona virus and the deaths resulting from non-medical, non-science opinions over the last year.

He did it with his angry face and aggressive hand gestures to remind dimwits that this is a serious issue. There’s nothing like a 71 year old man hopping mad and puking out disinformation to a brain dead audience who suck it up like chocolate gravy on meatloaf.

Was this beacon of truth banned? Why the heck not?

Don’t Ban The Man, But If You Wanted To

Who can report violations of this policy?

Anyone can report content that may encourage or promote suicide or self-harm via our in-app reporting or our specialized reporting form. These reports are routed to a dedicated team who evaluate each case individually.

A shameless hack talking science and medicine to a vulnerable audience is encouraging self harm.

Next thing you know people won’t get their virus vaccine after listening to misguided opinions that are not challenged or corrected by the cocktail waitress as news host.

The next time I put on makeup and sit in front of a camera, reacting passively to a pinched up old man whose blood pressure medicine is obviously not working, will be the last time. (It would be the first time, also.)

I don’t trot out my credentials very often, but in regard to opinions spouted by a moron, and breaking twitter rules, here they are:

Junior Life Saver card earned at the North Bend Public Pool swim lessons.

First Aide classes and CPR in grade school trips to the North Bend Fire Department.

Updated First Aide card over the years.

Fully trained U.S. Army Medic graduate from Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas.

Five years as a home caregiver of a man, my father in law, who was left for dead by the medical community who had done all they could. Those were five years of giving a man with nothing to live for something to look forward to every damn day.

His was a life that needed enhanced and I took to it like a duck to water.

An Honest Covid19 Take

Has-beens with weak education on the matter, but big mouths, change opinions.

Weak-minded people need to establish blame before working a problem.

Is there blame and deceit about covid? We’ll find out from the proper authorities in time, not from suck-ups out of the most ignorant administration in many lifetimes.

Sewing seeds of doubt about a vaccine is one thing; Doing it after you get the shots is a problem.

Avoidable deaths are not an, “It is what it is” moment. Neither is casting aspersions on settled facts just to keep a base on edge.

Try this the next time a re-tread mouthpiece goes off the tracks:

Ask yourself if the person speaking is reliable. If they are republicans who used to be democrats who used to be libertarians, beware. They will say whatever it takes to get on camera.

Then ask yourself if you trust anything from a person whose big claim to fame is having jobs created for them because of something less than ability.

Covid might be a big joke, more a throw away talking point than a life threatening disease for some people. Until it gets closer, then a little closer, then it’s right in front of you and you’re waving last good-byes through a window.

Let’s check with another authority who brings impeccable credentials to twitter rules

“I strongly encourage everyone to use common sense to avoid spreading this and every other virus out there,” she says in her statement. “There are more viruses than there are stars in the sky, meaning we’ll never avoid every source of illness or danger … But please be vigilant, don’t be frightened, and I advise reprioritizing some personal time and resources to ensure as healthy a lifestyle as you can create so when viruses do hit, you have at least some armor to fight it.”

Is the from the CDC? From the Mayo Clinic? Johns Hopkins?

Maybe it’s Harvard Medical School, NYU, Duke University, Columbia, Stanford? All highly rated, in fact the top five medical schools listed in U.S. News.

But no, the quote comes from People magazine, so it’s got to be some lefty celebrity pumping a new movie, a tell-all book, or a conversion to some obscure weird belief system.

Or it’s Sarah Palin.
