GYM LIFE CHRONICLE

gym life

Gym life people, workout people, come in varying sizes and shapes, but one thing they all have in common, they show up.

Call it obsession, habit, or nothing better to do, but gym life is the life of choice for people determined to live their best.

I saw an endorsement of gym life from a woman who just turned one hundred. When asked why she worked out, she said, “So I can go to the bathroom by myself.”

Goals in gym life come in every size. Mine is to feel the pump, the sensation of muscle exhaustion that asks for just a little more effort.

That I haven’t snapped yet is a surprise. It’s not about the weight, you know. I’ve heard that more than once.

The best part of gym life? Listening to people talk about anything but the reason they lift: FEAR.

We’re afraid we won’t be strong enough, look good enough, feel well enough, to live the life we want to live.

Somehow lifting fights the fear. What works for you?
